Disha has won the Covering Climate Now Award (2024), Developing Asia Journalism Award (2024) and ICFJ's 2018 Global Health Reporting Contest. She was a 2019 RAF fellow to the United Nations where she covered the General Assembly with a focus on climate change. She has received multiple reporting grants from the Pulitzer Center and the Earth Journalism Network (EJN), along with a grant from the International Women's Media Fund (IWMF) to report on health and environmental issues in India.
Her work has appeared via The Fuller Project in The Washington Post, Scroll and The Wire. She has also written for Undark, Hakai Magazine and Forbes, among others. Disha has previously held full-time positions with The Fuller Project, IndiaSpend, DNA, Zee Digital and the Times Group in India.
She holds an MA in Science, Environment, and Medicine Journalism from Columbia University, a Post Graduate Diploma in Television Journalism from the Asian College of Journalism, and a Bachelors in Mass Media from the SIES College of Arts, Science and Commerce (Nerul).
